Chair Yoga
with Jan Cowan
Offered by Donation

Chair Yoga is a way of practicing more "traditional" yoga poses with the support of a chair -- which can make yoga available and doable for people who prefer to not use the floor -- or, for people who are working at a desk or a computer and wish to take a "yoga break" to refresh and renew their energy. Sometimes, a simple forward bend or a twist done in the chair is just the thing for renewing one’s energy! Jan has been practicing yoga since 1970, and teaching since 1992 throughout Shasta and Siskiyou Counties, including Shasta College, College of the Siskiyous, Shasta Yoga, and others.

Tuesdays 8:30-10 am

Unwind mental, emotional and physical tensions to uncover an inner spaciousness that brings forth insight, compassion, gratitude, and ways that honor… Components of this class include:
-centering/attuning, basic breathing practices that help regulate the nervous system and steady the mind
-slow, gentle movements for warming tissues and mobilizing joints
-
basic standing postures - to safely foster strength, mobility, coordination, balance, and inform our daily movements
-restful, reclining, seated or gently inverted postures - supported by props.
No online preregistration. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to register.
